Kitten Pickup Day: Welcoming Your Bengal Home

Ensuring a Healthy Start

Kitten Pickup Day is a significant milestone for both you and your new Bengal. Leading up to this day, each kitten has received exceptional, continuous care, including multiple comprehensive health checks performed by our certified veterinarian to ensure each kitten’s health and readiness for adoption. They will also receive two rounds of FVRCP vaccinations and essential deworming treatments to protect against common feline diseases. Additionally, each kitten will either be spayed/neutered or provided with a SpaySecure contract and will be microchipped for safety and easy identification. These steps are taken to ensure your kitten starts their new life with you in the best possible way, fully prepared for a healthy and happy future together.

Kitten Pickup Day Checklist

As Kitten Pickup Day approaches, thorough preparation is key to a smooth transition for your Bengal kitten. Below is a checklist to guide you through what to bring when you pick up your new companion:

For Short Drives

Cat Carrier: A new, sanitized cat carrier lined with a small blanket or towel sprayed with Comfort Zone or Feliway to help reduce stress.

For Long Drives

Cat Carrier: A new, sanitized cat carrier lined first with chuck pads then a small blanket or towel sprayed with Comfort Zone or Feliway to help reduce stress.
Hydration: Water bottle and bowl to stay hydrated.
Litter Box Setup

○ Small portable litter box

○ Appropriate litter

○ Litter scoop.

Supplies in case of accidents

○ Baby wipes

○ Paper towels

○ Extra chuck pads

○ Doggy bags

For Air Travel to MSP Airport

Please plan to meet us at the airport two hours prior to the departure of your return flight. This schedule ensures that your kitten spends the least amount of time possible in the carrier while providing ample opportunity to complete essential paperwork and address any questions you may have. This schedule also allows sufficient time for you to check in your kitten and navigate through airport security. For safety and to reduce stress for both you and your kitten, we recommend requesting a private screening room when going through security.
As part of your transportation fee we provide you with the following:

Cat Carrier: A new, sanitized airline approved soft-sided carrier lined first with chuck pads then a small blanket or towel sprayed with Comfort Zone or Feliway to help reduce stress.

Hydration: Water bowl to stay hydrated.

Supplies in case of accidents

○ Baby wipes

○ Extra chuck pads

○ Doggy bags

Note: Most airlines charge per carrier, not per animal, typically allowing two kittens per carrier.

Mandatory First Vet Visit

Traveling can be a challenging experience for kittens, as they are introduced to unfamiliar environments, sounds, and smells that can lead to stress. This stress often manifests in physical symptoms such as diarrhea, loss of appetite, or vomiting. Recognizing the impact of travel on kittens developing immune systems, we ensure each kitten receives a “Kitten Go Home (Exit) Veterinarian Clearance,” confirming their health before leaving Pet Perfect Bengals Cattery. Nonetheless, given the potential stress-related health concerns, it is crucial for you to schedule a veterinary visit to occur within 96 hours after the kitten’s arrival. This timely examination not only helps in circumventing the usual delays in getting a new patient appointment but also allows the veterinarian to check the kitten’s microchip, establish a health baseline, and address any immediate health concerns, ensuring your kitten’s transition into their new home is as smooth and safe as possible.
